Working with clay has been a part of my life since I was 15 and taught myself wheel throwing. A friend of my mother’s worked at a school where there was a ceramic workshop and she would let me come and use the wheel whenever I wanted, and I would sit there for hours until I learned how to center.
Since then, oh so many years ago, my C.V. is full of ceramic. I even have a master from the Danish School of Design, that added on to my craft-based background, with process thinking and project development. I have taught at high level evening classes, at art schools for children and at ceramic workshops.
These days I’m happy to be a part time ceramist. Doing ceramics is like taking a super vitamin; it’s me element and my core, but I don’t want to use all of my professional life in the ceramic world.
I share a workshop with others. As well as taking private orders, I have my work in a design and craft shop in Copenhagen and in the shop of the Art Museum in my old hometown in Sweden.
